Robin-Multiuser System

Robin-The Flash Multiuser System

Multiuser gaming seems to be a positive direction for the gaming world, you have the chance to collaborate with other, especially when aimed at people who are not hardcore games. Working with Robin is frustrating and challenging at the same time, when working with Robin you have to create classes in Flash, the Robin class works without server scripting and instead a php script must remain running in order to pass data between users. There are a few files and folders that must be uploaded to your site and you must specify the ip address of your host server in two of the files. The Robin class gives you the basic abilities to set properties and get properties.

Here are some helpful multiuser links:

Goose Multitouch Emulator

On CNN they use a large screen and the host will use his fingers to move things on the screen or enlarge pictures by dragging two corners apart. For some time I was wondering how did they do it! finally it was introduced by Dan Zen when he talked about goose the multitouch emulator which allows to place multiple cursers into your flash application so you can move things around, pick up items on the screen and drop it in another place, Here are some links to samples of how goose works:

Posting Video movies on You Tube

It is nice experience to create a video and post it on You Tube, I had the chance to view all others videos that they created and posted, the once I think made more since to me are:

Invention-Documentary
Discovery or finding of a new idea, they both start with a problem that needs a solution, this invention documentary had it all, the problem, the idea and the doing.
The video has very little effects but the beauty is in the simplicity, the sound was used very wisely, I think this is the best movie from the whole collection I viewed.

Love for his Sons and Daughters
Best part of this movie is the sound effects that added to the scenes, some effects as the keying effects was applied in some areas which gave it interesting looking, the online Op Art Tool effect that is on Dan Zen website was also used in a nice way; here is the link to Dan Zen website try it yourself it is great I used it and it is fun “ http://www.danzen.com/deck.html?card=saveearth “ , all together final production of this short movie was a fare execution.

Ostrich Flash Technology

The new technology is one of a series of eight new open source technologies called the flash feather series, Ostrich Flash Technology is the seventh – this technology gives designers and developers a new way to capture motion on the screen using web cams – the new technology can perform an action such as moving an image on the screen through capturing a move using a web cam that will result in activating another image to preform an action such as clicking a button or starting a movie.

To learn more about the technology you can visit http://ostrichflash.wordpress.com – this is a great source for interactive multimedia information including Action Script in Flash.
